"It's okay," Thomas murmured, letting himself be pulled. He toed off his shoes without too much trouble and let himself think about the people that were missing, that were lost. He hoped it was something simple, something easy that was happening and not a repeat of what they'd all gone through.
"I'm sorry," he apologized, sliding his fingers through his hair and wincing at how trite those two words were. "If they've gone home, that's -- that's probably safer than what we all had to deal with a few months ago."
