"All right," Thomas said, nodding at Krem's words. He believed Krem, believed everything even if a part of him, dark and shriveled part of him knew he didn't deserve that kind of thing. Sometimes, like right now, it was easy to ignore that part of himself.

Other times, it was all he could hear.

"Do you want to shower or would you rather me just a few towels?" Thomas asked, sliding carefully to the edge of the bed so he wouldn't make an even bigger mess than he'd already made.
