Krem extracted his hands from Hild's, only to set the bottle down near her on the table she sat on. Then, he took up her hands again and leaned over to touch them to his forehead. Perhaps the touch itself would cure him of how wretched he felt. It wouldn't, but he could hope, could dream.

She was right, of course. His hurt and Gannicus's ignorance were not mutually exclusive, and Krem did not, in the first place, believe that Gannicus would have knowingly and willfully fucked Leocadia if he had known.

At least, he hoped.

Softly, breathing through a sudden wave of revulsion and upset, Krem murmured tearily, "I can't help but feel like he fucked her because he would rather have a woman."
